best VOIP Rates to India

if you are new to VOIP calls, please have a look at one of my previous posting about this.

The basics are more or less same but, they keep coming up with new sites with better rates.. through this posting I will try to keep u updated about the best rate that I come across with (to India)..




1. VOIP Cheap === 0.07 Euros/Min to India (7 cents / min)



This is what I have been using for some time now.




2. Internet Calls === 0.03 Euros/min to India



I have registed to this site recently.





3. VOIP Raider === 0.022 Euro/Min to Landline and 0.027 Euro/min to mobile. (Even if you calculate with 66Rs per Euro, one minute of call will cost you only 1.5 Rs/- !!!!!!!)



I saw this rate today. I have not registed yet.



4. WebCallDirect === 0.02 Euros/min to landline, 0.03 Euros/min to Mobile. (Super deal)



I found this today..





One more thing. Earlier I was able to pay using credit card. Now a days, it doesnt seem to work at all.. You can do the Bank Transfer or "Elektronisches
Lastschriftverfahren" (if you are in Germany) or its equivalants...

5. CallEasy === 0.02 Euros/min to landline and Mobile. (Super deal)



Only difference from other sites is that this does not allow people to call from PC to phone. Instead you need to make a call to an access number and use the pin to login and then enter the destination number.

The catch with this is that, you can use this effectively only if you can call to these access numbers for free. For eg, here in Germany, most internet connections comes with telefone-flat, which means you call all landlines in Germany for free. So I use that option to call the access number and further call to India. If you are not able to call these access numbers for free, then its better to go for another option (say WebCallDirect) by which you can make the calls from PC. Or if you already have such an account like WebCallDirect, that will help you to make that first call to access no for free and then use the CallEasy Account.

I having a googling about Dry Shavers (Electic Shavers). Wanted to know if the foil type or rotary type is better in performance. Foil type may be slightly better in terms of reachability to corners...

a simple calculator using Tcl/tk......

My new project is to customise the CAD sofware using another software that uses Tcl/tk (known as Tickle tk).

I started learning it by making a calculator.. It was not as tough as I thought it would be and I was able to make it prety fast..

Saving on Tax - from the year 08-09

Soo, the good news is out!

the reduction in Tax is much better than everybody expected...
Not only the Standard deduction is increased, the slabs are also reshuffled for good..

Chelsea bring home the victory against the odds.

Chelsea beat Valencia to enter the Semi Finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea has done wonderfully well to come back from 1:0 deficit against a good Valencia team.. They showed lot of character and resolve in the second half and scored not only the equaliser but also scored a thundering goal in the injury time of the regular period, when everyone was getting prepared for extra time..

This was one of the best wins of Chelsea in recent past and may be all time. In a way, this vindicates Jose Mourinho.. Cheers to him and Chelsea....

Death of Bob Woolmer..

It is SAD indeed!



The high profile coach of Pakistan Cricket Team, Bob Woolmer (Robert Andrew Woolmer) was found dead after the team crashed out of the Cricket World Cup. Everyone who follow cricket are more or less sure that it was a murder. It is highly surprising that people especially the ICC is keeping mum one this.

I dont know how many more lifes and matches are needed for the ICC to clamp down on the corroption side of Cricket. It may not be easy because the people in ICC may also be benifitting of the dark side of Cricket.. pity me that I still watch this game.. Pity all cricket lovers, because ICC dont have the guts to do it right..

And the sadest part of this is that no one will ever come to know what really happened.

U can click here and install the three that are highlited. These three together would ensure that u will be able to watch more or less all matches.

Once u have installed these, the task is to identify where a match is available. That is where the following site comes into picture. Its updated regularly and provide an overview of all the channels.

Depending on the match u want to watch and the programs that are installed, u can click on the appropriate "PLAY" link. It will sometimes take a few minutes to get loaded. Sometimes the links may be dead. Hopefully u wil get one of those working!!

Will Daimler divorce the Chrysler? Hyundai is also for the run for Chrysler ..

After GM, the rumor says that Hyundai is also in the running for Chrysler. The group DaimlerChrysler is reconsidering its options regarding the struggling Chrysler.

After Daimler-Benz bought Chrysler back in 1998, the $92 billion group became the 6th largest automaker at that time. It was also the biggest merger at that time. Although everyone initially thought its a merger, it was actually a buy-over by Daimler-Benz. There after Dr. Dieter Zetsche (also known as Dr. Z) became famous for bringing Chrysler from difficult situation. Recently, after the successful mission in US, he came back to Germany to become the Chairman of DC. Last month DC announced a job cut of 13,000 in America for the Chrysler to break-even in 2008. Also they are looking at other options.

GM was struggling but has recovered and has turned the corner. But, may be Chrysler is bit too hot for them to handle at this point. They themselves are trying to come back and they may not want another struggling brand. Hyundai is an interesting option. For one, its a Korean brand and they buying premier US car brands is a symbolic one for the future! Hyundai has improved a lot in terms of quality and stature. Recently they came 3rd in terms of quality after only the Porsche and Lexus. Toyota came fourth.

But I do feel that Toyota may be interested as well. They have a deep pocket and can buy anything they want. Do they want? who knows. Toyota is doing really well in US as well.

China’s two carmaking powerhouses, Chery and SAIC, are also thought to be eyeing developments very closely for any gaps. SAIC failed in an attempt to buy MG Rover two years ago.

Einstein's time travel explained...

Here is a simple explanation of an effect of time travel.. I found it very easy to understand it this way...



Interestingly enough, I found this article about an Indian, a lecturer in physics, Mr. Ajay Sharma. He has challenged Einstein and claims to have found a critical error in Einsteins paper. It seems he has a point. Read this..

If you are still interested, you can find his paper where he suggests an alternate equaltion "dE = Ac² x dm" instead of the 100 year old, and never disputed "E=mc²".. Click here for his paper.. I didn't understand much!!!
